The Partnership for Supply Chain Management (PFSCM), a nonprofit procurement services agent and supply chain solutions provider, is proud to announce the launch of its new HealthSupply Portal*, a significant step forward in supporting global health and development initiatives.
The portal is designed to meet the catalog management and procurement needs of our clients, such as donors, governments, and humanitarian agencies.
The HealthSupply Portal provides streamlined access to an extensive range of health products. It simplifies procurement processes with intuitive search capabilities, comprehensive product information, and a secure ordering system connected to our world-class supply chain control tower.
PFSCM Information Technology Director Perry van Dam explains that PFSCM has undergone a digital transformation to improve process efficiencies through digitization and automation.
“In the last few years, PFSCM has become more digital and data-centric, and in addition to the implementation of our control tower, we have also invested in other best-of-breed tools to help us improve product information management, increase transparency, and streamline processes to meet and exceed our clients’s expectations.”
He adds that PFSCM enlisted digital solutions company Incentro to build from scratch a robust and intuitive catalog management and ordering system that enables PFSCM to:
- Make its extensive health product catalog available to its clients and their beneficiaries and grantees.
- Offer its clients custom standalone product catalogs tailored to their needs, whether by disease area, programmatic focus area, or specific grants.
- Offer clients the option to place orders directly with PFSCM or through punch-out catalogs if they prefer using their ordering mechanisms.
- Give its staff access to enhanced product information to speed up order processing and reduce manual product information deciphering.
- Quickly connect the occasional “off-catalog” or unspecified order with the correct product information in its digital catalog.
Further, van Dam notes that the HealthSupply Portal reduces the complexity of navigating PFSCM’s extensive portfolio of more than 6,200 specialized health products frequently ordered by end users like donor beneficiaries, NGOs, humanitarian organizations, Ministries of Health and their associated laboratories, and programmatic implementers in more than 85 countries worldwide.
“Digitizing the extensive catalog makes it easier and quicker for our clients to find the products and information they need to make informed purchasing decisions.
“This includes information about shelf life and handling requirements for time- and temperature-sensitive and/or hazardous products that may entail cold chain.”
Meanwhile, he says the new ordering system will enable PFSCM’s ever-growing and diverse customer base to place orders more efficiently.
“We have different ways of taking orders from our clients depending on how they are set up and their preferences. For the last few years, we have been connecting our ERP system with the ordering mechanisms of our large clients, but to ensure other clients can just as easily connect with us, we implemented the new ordering system, which stands on its own.”
Van Dam concludes that the HealthSupply Portal will help improve efficiency and transparency, enabling PFSCM partners to focus on delivering impactful health interventions while ensuring accountability in resource allocation.
