The Partnership for Supply Chain Management, a nonprofit procurement services agent and supply chain solutions provider, is pleased to announce that it has received a Wholesale Distributor Authorisation (WDA) license.
PFSCM was evaluated by the Health and Youth Care Inspectorate, which is a part of the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare, and Sport; and the license was issued by Farmatec, an executive body of the Ministry.
Wholesale distribution of medicinal products includes all activities consisting of procuring, holding, supplying, and exporting medicinal products. Thus, the wholesale distribution of health products is an essential activity in integrated supply chain management.
PFSCM Chief Operating Officer Erin Seidner says the WDA license gives clients the guarantee that PFSCM complies with the European guidelines on Good Distribution Practices (GDP) of medicinal products for human use.
“Showing compliance with the guidelines gives our clients the assurance that PFSCM uses appropriate tools and systems, has control over the distribution chain, and has the ability to maintain the quality and integrity of products through the supply chain.”
Seidner adds that wholesale distribution plays a vital role in managing integrated supply chains, which have become increasingly intricate with multiple stakeholders.
“Adherence to established guidelines ensures effective control over the distribution process, thereby upholding the quality and integrity of medicinal products. It also aids wholesale distributors in their operations while safeguarding against the infiltration of falsified medicines into the legitimate supply chain.”
Seidner concludes that PFSCM is proud to comply with the EU GDP guidelines and will use his recognition to further work towards its mission of improving access to affordable and quality health products.
